Below are 3 tracks that I considered for my trailer. I wanted to find music that would fit well with the genre of scripted reality like Made in Chelsea I felt like all the tracks fit well with the genre how ever I wanted my trailer to be full of suspense.
Avicii's 'The Days' was a very modern and upbeat song. I liked the tempo of the song but I felt that this did not quite portray my trailer in the right way. I want the audience to be uncertain about what is about to happen. The Foals 'My Number' was also a good choice. Many trailers for scripted reality shows like Made in Chelsea are using popular Indie as their target audience knows them well how ever this did not yet have the right feeling that I wanted my trailer to have. M83's Midnight City (Slowed Alcala Remix) is a remix of the song that they use in most of the Made In Chelsea trailers. I think that this song goes very will with the genre however I wanted my trailer to be more tense so I used a slower remix of the original song that has a slower beat create the right feeling i wanted mt trailer to have so I decided to go with the Midnight City Remix Using the Audience Research to Plan an Effective Product
Most Popular Soap: Coronation Street Most Popular Sub Genre: Melodrama/ Social Realism Favourite Storyline: Murder The Audience Want More: Fights We Should Broadcast Our Product on: E4/ Dave We Will Broadcast at: 09:00 pm After Water Shed How will the channel and time of broadcast affect the content and Sub genre of your trailer? In our group we gathered the results from each of our individual surveys and decided on a Channel, Sub-genre and time for our product. We decided that our Media Product would be broadcast on E4 after Water Shed (9:00 pm.) We would broadcast of E4 because they share a very similar demographic to our product. Since this was the most popular channel in our surveys our soap would have to be a scripted reality, this fits in well with out choice in channel since E4 is the host to one of the biggest scripted realities in the UK, Made In Chelsea. Since the majority of our audience watches TV in the evening we will air our advertisement after 9:00 pm when most of our audience will be watching. This allows us much more freedom with the creation of our product. Since it will be aired after watershed we can release more controversial material such as Fights and other risky footage. |
